Q: What is OnlineVerdict.com?
A: OnlineVerdict.com is an online research company for attorneys and legal professionals. We provide case feedback from jury qualified residents in the case venue by way of the internet. OnlineVerdict.com was created by experienced trial consultants to provide attorneys with juror feedback for all case types and sizes. Online research is useful when the case value does not warrant a traditional focus group or mock trial, if you are debating whether to take a case, or if you are looking for preliminary feedback on case issues before you conduct other research.

Q: How does OnlineVerdict.com work?
A:
Lawyers or legal professionals post to the secure OnlineVerdict.com website a case summary and verdict questions for participants to answer. Participants who are jury eligible and match the demographics of the selected venue will then be emailed an invitation to review the case. Tabulated juror feedback from either 25 or 50 jury qualified respondents is sent to the lawyer or legal professional who posted the case. It is that simple.

Q: What are the benefits of garnering feedback from qualified jurors in the case venue?
A:
When potential jurors review case facts, attorneys can identify community attitudes, case strengths and weaknesses, case themes, case value and potential outcome. In addition, online research provides the following benefits:

Cost Savings: Online research provides quick feedback from a large panel of jurors without the traditionally high costs of live focus groups and mock trials.

Flexibility: Online research provides both the attorney and participant the flexibility of posting and reviewing case information from the comfort of their own computer. Attorneys also have the ability to test only certain elements of their case, their opening or closing, and/or visual support.

Timeliness: Feedback from 25-50 jurors can be gathered within a few days, compared to several weeks for a live focus group. Reports and summaries are generated instantaneously. So whether you are in discovery or on the eve of trial, online research can improve your trial preparation.

Confidentiality: We employ several methods to keep an attorney’s work product privileged and confidential on our secure website. First, attorney and juror accounts are password protected. Second, cases are posted to jurors with a fictitious case name and future cases with the same legal case name will not be accepted by OnlineVerdict.com when posted by a different attorney. Third, all jurors are jury eligible and pre-screened to ensure there are no conflicts. Finally, registered jurors pledge to keep all case-related information confidential.

Q: How are the mock jurors located?
A:
Potential jurors are recruited from all over the country through email and/or other recruiting measures. To join, a participant must answer a series of demographic questions (e.g., date of birth, marital status, ethnicity, employment status, etc.), some screening questions, and agree to the terms and conditions of the service. They must also be a U.S. citizen and be over the age of 18. A juror’s profile is then stored in our secure database. When a case is posted in their venue, eligible jurors will receive an email invitation to review the case.

Q: Does this service provide the benefits of a real focus group?
A:
Simply put, the answer is ‘No’. Nothing can replace a simulated trial where participants hear and see the presentations from attorneys and deliberate the case facts and issues as a group. OnlineVerdict.com should not be used as a substitute for focus groups and/or mock trials. The purpose of OnlineVerdict.com is to provide attorneys with feedback from qualified jurors in the case venue if they cannot afford a focus group/mock trial, if they are debating whether to take a case, or if they are looking for preliminary feedback on case issues before they conduct other research.

Q: What makes OnlineVerdict.com unique?
A:
OnlineVerdict.com is owned and operated by experienced trial consultants with years of litigation experience. OnlineVerdict.com was designed and programmed based on years of experience in knowing what information attorneys need to improve their cases. An additional benefit for attorneys is the option to have an experienced trial consultant review case feedback and make recommendations on case strategy, assist with jury profiling, voir dire and selection strategy as well as design follow-up focus group or mock trial research.
